About birth photography

Welcome to a unique journey of life through my documentary-style photography. I specialise in capturing the profound moments of labour, birth, and the postnatal experience allowing you to be fully present while I unobtrusively document the magic unfolding around you. My goal is to highlight the raw emotions and intimate connections that define this incredible time, ensuring you can relive your journey and discover the beautiful details you may have missed whilst being immersed in your birth bubble, moments like, a partner’s supportive touch, a sibling’s reaction when they meet their new brother or sister, the love in mum’s eyes as she sees her baby for the first time. Together, we'll create lasting memories that you and your child will cherish for a lifetime.

How it works
On call from your 38th week until your baby arrives, 24 hours a day, I am ready to go as soon as your story begins.
Whether you are having a home birth or hospital delivery, in the relief of water or more at ease on a bed.
Full coverage of your birth journey begins once you are in active labour right up until 2 hours after your baby is safely delivered.
As a mum of two, I know how incredible and sacred this time can be. I will capture these cherished moments with sensitivity and trust.
My birth documentary service starts with a consultation during your pregnancy. We will discuss your birth plans and what you'd like to get from me. We can discuss the images you would like me to capture, and those you don't. I will endeavour to accommodate your requirements.
As you will be sharing one of the most important days of your life with me, we need to know we are compatible and relaxed in each other's company.

Within 12 hrs of your delivery you will receive an image you can use as your announcement photograph.
7-10 days later, I will send you your private online gallery with all the fully edited images displayed to view, download & share if you wish.
After you are happy with all the images you will receive a USB containing all the high res images for you to keep.
I can add on print and/or album packages if desired.

Your privacy is of upmost importance. I will never share any images to social media or my website without prior agreement and consent from you. I have been and am happy to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements. I have a full DBS check.
I only take on a maximum of 1 birth a month so I'm able to give you the experience you should have in this the most exciting and treasured time of your life.

My Story

Having left school to work as an apprentice in a photographic studio and darkroom, I have over 20 years experience in the photographic industry.
After having a break from professional photography, working as cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic and having our 2 children, I have established my own photographic business. I've dedicated the last six years to specialising in birth and motherhood photography. From the moment I captured my first birth I was hooked!
I have a strong passion for capturing the beauty and true emotions of labour and motherhood. My documentary style allows me to convey your unique story in a discreet unobtrusive way, ensuring that every moment is authentically documented. I also offer lifestyle maternity and sessions that highlight the natural essence of your journey.
